Myvoxsongs is us, husband and wife team, Emma and Olly Drew. Having both worked in the online and music industry, we started to create short cartoon films ourselves which we felt visually entertained, babies, toddlers and young children and where the music was as close to what we remembered from our own childhoods.
Olly: I started playing guitar when I was 13, and have played in bands since school. I was lead vocalist in a band called Freeloader during my twenties and I am currently involved with UK soul/R&B band Grupo X.
I put as much into producing our nursery rhymes as I would into any composition. I always try and keep the song as true to the traditional version as possible, but if I hear a variation I think is an improvement. I am not afraid to use it! I like to keep the musical arrangement simple using acoustic guitar and simple percussion accompaniment.
Emma: Having worked in the music industry for ten years and for Simon Cowells'Pop Idol (the UK version of American Idol) & The X Factor UK (The X Factor US) talent shows, I know the importance of music for children of all ages. These programmes appeal to all ages however there's no reason to wait until your kids can walk and talk to introduce the enjoyment and excitement of song and rhyme. Music is an important part of learning and development for babies and toddlers. Children learn to communicate through music, singing and dance.
I started creating these cartoon videos for our son. After much searching I couldn't find the colourful, simple, cute, classic nursery rhymes or songs with the lyrics and tune that I remember. After realising the need for some good old fashioned animation and after a little online self training I set to work to create some cartoon nursery rhymes. I hope you enjoy them.
The cartoons are all drawn by hand, frame by frame, in the old fashioned way of animating. There's no stencils, library pictures, flash or graphics used just plain old basic animation software that insists we create each frame. This allows us to keep it simple.
We work on one project at a time from start to completion, and upload them as fast as we can produce them, so watch this space!
You will find our heart and soul in each animated musical production and we are passionate about bringing the joy of their magic to others.
