We all know that kids love toys, but what are the education benefits of providing toys to children? A child in a play store can find a number of things the feel they just can’t live without!
Toys are much  more than just fun and games for kids. Most of them provide kids the opportunity to learn. There are toys that can engage a child’s senses and encourage them to interact with others. Toys have many educational benefits that are different for each age range of your child.
Babies & Toys
Providing your baby with safe toys and toys that are stimulate can help him discover his senses. Rattles and toys that make music are favourites of infants. In addition, toys that have contrasting colours are fascinating to babies and stimulate their visual development.  As babies grow, they can also play with toys that help them  explore object permanence and cause and effect relationships. Finally, objects as building blocks  help them build motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Toys for Toddlers
Toddlers can  play  with a bigger variety of toys that what they had when they were smaller. It’s fine if they still enjoy playing with some of the toys that they were playing as babies.  The same toys can provide them different educational opportunities because their knowledge is expanding! They also need toys that are designed for this age. Shape sorters are great for toddlers. They learn how to match items that are similar. Parents have the opportunity to teach their kids the name of the shapes.  Lego Blocks are an excellent choice in order to teach kids more about colours & symmetry
Toys for pre-school & school aged children
When children reach pre-school age, it’s time to start learning letters, numbers and language skills!
Toys that encourage this type of learning can be  from  simple  alphabet puzzles to high-tech electronic gadgets. All these can function as  an introduction of the things that the kids will learn in school.
Kids that are already in school can supplement their learning with fun and educational toys.  It’s important to give them the opportunity to have fun while practicing the things they are learning in school. That will increase their retention of those things.
Understanding the education benefits of toys and making education enjoyable will help your child retain the things he learns and develop a positive attitude toward learning!
